Lunch & Learn in Houston
Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Topic: "Stuck Pipe Rescue"
presented by: Kevin Jones of Tenax Energy Solutions

Industry data indicates that the cost of a stuck pipe event can quickly escalate to north of $1,000,000. Time on location trying the existing methods, cutting CT on surface and fishing, cost of CT string replacement, lost BHA, lost production time, lost service company revenues, damage to reputations all soon add up to significant unrecoverable loss.

HydraShock provides a contingency that, when activated, has resulted in 4 out of 4 rescues of stuck pipe with the complete elimination of the above losses. This rescue system can be deployed in 3 ways.

  1. 12" sub attached to the BHA or at the CT connector
  2. Wireline deployed for jointed pipe or
  3. Pump down

The system stores latent energy in well tubulars. This energy is released instantaneously upon demand causing variable shock loads to be deployed along the length of the well tubulars resulting in the agitation of the matter causing the stuck pipe event.

Case histories will be discussed.

Refracturing Workshop: Advancing the Learning Curve
11-12 April 2017
Archer Hotel, Austin, TX USA

Workshop agenda   |  Sponsorship Opportunities  | Training Course

Across all oil and gas plays, the rapidly evolving approaches to completion and stimulation design and deployment have created enormous opportunities to re-enter and re-stimulate wells that were treated early in play development. With the deep and sustained reduction in oil price, refracturing creates a highly attractive opportunity for many of these wells. Subject matter experts will present case study presentations on extensive field experiences and provide technical updates on refracturing. This workshop is an opportunity to network as well as to learn the newest developments.

Topics to be covered:

  • Selection process for refracturing candidates
  • Deployment techniques and intervention requirements
  • Zonal isolation and chemical/mechanical diversion
  • Refrac design and modeling and economics
  • Future/Emerging Technologies

This event will provoke interaction; outline and summarize existing solutions and challenges; and accelerate new technologies through experiences and lessons learned.
