| Coiled Tubing Glossary...
Oil Based Mud: drilling mud in which oil is the continuous phase; e.g., oil-base mud and invert-oil mud. Open Hole: A wellbore, having no casing. Opening Ratio: The ratio of the well pressure to the hydraulic actuation pressure required to open the well control component. Outside Cementing: a secondary cementing method conducted to fill the annulus completely; also called "top job" or "one-inch" job. Ovality: The difference between the largest and smallest outside diameter on a cross-section. Overbalance: The extent to which the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid column exceeds the formation pressure. Overburden Pressure: The pressure exerted by the overburden on the formation of interest Overburden: The strata of rock that lies above the zone of interest. Overflush: The fluid over and above the volume required to displace a fluid to a desired point in tubulars or openhole. Please inform ICoTA to add a glossary term. |
