| Coiled Tubing Glossary...
Gilsonite: a naturally occurring solid hydrocarbon of the asphalt group whose granular form is sometimes used as a cement additive to prevent lost circulation. GPM: Gallons per minute. GPT: Gallons per thousand. Grapple Connector: A tubing connector using grapples to connect BHA's to the bottom of a coiled tubing string. Gravity Stabilized: The CT is lying straight within the hole, however, it is beyond the Neutral Point and therefore, if conditions change, it is possible for the CT to form a Helical Spiral. Guide Shoe: A short heavy cylindrical steel section, filled with concrete and rounded at the bottom and placed at the end of a casing string. It prevents the casing from hanging up on irregularities in the wellbore as the casing is being run to bottom. A hole in the center of the shoe allows fluids to move freely through it. Gypsum: a naturally occurring crystalline form of hydrous calcium sulfate. Please inform ICoTA to add a glossary term. |
